Engender is pleased to announce that it has picked up an award at the inaugural AgFunder Innovation Awards. Engender was names as one of the ‘5 Most Innovative International Startups at Series A and Beyond’ by Agfunder. The award was determined by nominations from Agfunder’s global network of over 25,000 people committed to the progression of agriculture.
AgFunder is an equity crowdfunding site based in San Francisco. The website helps connect both individual and institutional investors with high growth agriculture technology and food technology companies. Agfunder has decided to launch the AgFunder Innovation Awards to recognize the agtech startups that are driving the industry forward and are the most innovative.
Engender’s technology is a sort-on-a-chip approach with integrated microfluidic and photonic components. Engender’s design is expected to achieve high efficiency and high accuracy sperm sex selection with increased viability and therefore increased expected fertility. The chip based approach will allow for highly parallel processing to achieve high throughput, higher cell counts to improve fertilization, and higher purity to improve sperm sex selection.
